Do you even meal prep?

I may have jumped the gun in my first post on nutrition and meal prep! Yikes! But hopefully y'all will forgive me for my haste and accept this week's edition of #MealPrepMonday as I direct you to Kevin Curry's genius on the FitMenCook platform. Kevin was the resource I trusted the most as I first began my meal prep journey and, as I learned the importance of eating healthy and planning for success, his recipes provided the variety and flavor bursts that my palette needed in order to stay on the path towards gaining muscle mass and improving performance. Meal prep doesn’t have to be boring, and healthy does not have to mean bland. He also strongly encourages constant variety and trying new foods that may be obscure but provide some amazing micronutrients to keep that body performing at the highest level. I’ve always aligned myself with the philosophy that our bodies are meant to be experimented on. No, I don’t mean in any sort of pejorative way, but in the sense that, unless we do genetic testing to very strategically understand what our individual body needs, everybody’s body will respond differently to any given food. For example, when I consume soy products, I have noticed that my body negatively responds to those nutrients. This is very unfortunate, because I love soy sauce, but I have found alternatives that allow my body to perform while still getting a semblance of the flavor that I love. I will confess that I have soy on occasion, but I am strategic in the times I consume it. Having said that, experiment with different foods! This will be a platform that will challenge you to explore unconventional foods and recipes, as well challenging the mind to acquire skills that may seem daunting. Email me with any questions, and I will be happy to respond to the best of my knowledge. Let’s get after it, and learn that “failing to plan is planning to fail!”
